Philippines Pavilion

Preparations are now underway for the next Carabram Festival on July 6, 7 & 8, 2007. We, at the Philippine Pavilion, hope that you will include the Philippines in your list of places to visit during Carbram.

Our theme for this year’s Carabram is "The Keepers of the Past: The Aboriginal Tribes of the Philippines". In the Philippines, there are 110 indigenous peoples groups, comprising 10% of the country’s total population. In the North are minority tribal groups that still practice their customs, traditions and lore. In the South, the indigenous groups are known for their wealth of craft, elaborate dresses and vivacious dances and music.

Our featured performers are the award-winning Fiesta Filipina Dance Troupe (www.fiestafilipina.org). Winners of the 2005 Best Entertainment Award at Carabram. It was also in 2005 when the Pavilion won 1st place for Atmosphere and Décor, Best Food, Best in Culture and 2nd place in Overall Best Pavilion.

The Fiesta Filipina Dance Troupe has been the ambassador of Canada and the Philippines to different folk dance festivals. It has performed on stage in France, Italy, Greece, Austria, Spain, Brazil, USA and the Philippines.

There will be live culinary demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy our popular dishes like "lumpia", "Pansit", "caldereta" and crispy "lechon". Don’t forget to have our very own San Miguel Beer, which is ranked as one of the best tasting beers in the world!

We hope to see you at Carabram. Mabuhay!
