India Pavilion
Namaste (Welcome)
Here we are to offer you a glimpse of India—an incredible land with a civilization of more than five thousand years , an excellent pedestal of colorful and unique culture, a stage where dance form is assiduously translated into well designed concrete language of artistic media ,a colorful mosaic of festivals and fairs - as diverse as the land, an eternal expression of the spirit of celebration.
India holds virtually every kind of landscape imaginable. From north to south, India extends a good 2000 miles (3200 km) with the Himalayas in the north tapering into the Indian ocean between the Bay of Bengal on the east and the Arabian sea on the west.
In our twenty-fifth year of the celebration of Carabram, we present the fragrance of traditional and contemporary art and culture representing the twenty eight states and seven Union Territories of India. This year our theme is art and culture of India to truly reflect ‘unity in diversity’. We like to present before you the classical dances such as Bharatnatyam, Kathakali, Kathak, Odissi and also the folk dances of different parts of India and at the same stage the modern rhythmic dance forms which are equally breathtaking . We will present enchanting music of the old and new era. An exhibition of our crafts will entice you for sure. There will be tantalizing fashion show. We will show you how to wear mysterious “SARI”. We will show you the fun of Indian marriage . And when you leave, don’t forget to color your beautiful hands in Mehendi in exquisite designs.
And the when your heart is full with our arts, come to taste the exotic food of India—tandoori chicken. Goat curry, pakora, world famous samosa. No, I will stop here or the mystery will be gone. See for yourself and be a part of India for three days.
