Swagatam (Welcome)

We welcome you to the 27th year of celebration of Carabram by Indian Heritage Society of Brampton. In India Pavilion we are to going to offer a glimpse of India - an incredible land with a civilization of more than five thousand years, an excellent pedestal of colorful and unique culture, a stage where dance form is assiduously translated into well designed concrete language of artistic media, a colorful mosaic of festivals and fairs - as diverse as the land, an eternal expression of the spirit of celebration.
The theme of our exhibition this year is "Window to India", which will be displayed in a colorful map of India and on the backdrop of the stage.
We have a diverse itinerary of cultural programs. In the inauguration ceremony we will present Bharatnatyam one of the purest forms of classical dances. This will be followed by a fashion show, featuring the
diverse costumes of India. There will be presentation of classical dances such as Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Odissi along with Bhangra and other folk dances of different parts of India. At the same time you can enjoy the modern rhythmic Bollywood dance forms, which are equally breathtaking. We will present enchanting music of the old and new era. One of the main attractions will be a fusion of various musical instruments and Tabla concert.
An exhibition of our crafts will entice you for sure. We will display an informative map of India depicting culture of various states. Our exhibition of art will be one of the attractions. A special addition this year is our exotic display of Indian traditional food and dessert. In a very artistic fashion we are going to place before you the way we decorate and garnish our sweet dishes at the time of marriage and other festivals. Made mainly with milk, coconut and other ingredients, this is not only delicious but also eye-catching

Please don’t forget to color your hands in beautiful Mehndi in exquisite designs. And the when your heart is full with our art, come to taste the exotic food of India—tandoori chicken, goat curry, pakora, world famous samosa etc etc. No, I will stop here or the mystery will be gone. See for yourself and be a part of India for three days.
